Analog Pursuit LLC ("we," "us") operates analogpursuit.com. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what we do with it.

The short version: we collect what we need to rent you a typewriter and nothing more, we don't sell your information, and you can ask us to delete it.

What we collect

When you book a rental or place an order

Your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and — for rentals — a form of identification and payment details. For event bookings we also collect your event date, venue, and the contact details of the responsible adult you designate. For production bookings we collect production company details and insurance documentation.

When you contact us

Whatever you put in the form or email, and your contact details so we can reply.

When you visit the site

Squarespace, which hosts our site, collects standard analytics — pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and referring site. This is aggregate information and doesn't identify you personally.

What we don't collect

We never see or store your full payment card details. Payments are handled by Stripe, and card data goes directly to them.

Why we collect it

•      To fulfill your rental or order

•      To contact you about a booking

•      To prepare the rental agreement and condition report

•      To process payments and deposits

•      To meet our tax and record-keeping obligations

•      To send you occasional updates, if and only if you asked for them

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers who process information on our behalf:

•      Squarespace — website hosting, shop, and contact forms

•      Booqable — rental booking and inventory

•      Stripe — payment processing

•      Google Workspace — email

Each has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it's necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.

We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers.

Email and marketing

We only send marketing email to people who opted in. Every message has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. Booking confirmations, rental reminders, and receipts are not marketing and will still be sent.

Photographs

We photograph our machines before and after every rental as a condition record. Those photographs are of equipment, not people.

For event rentals we may photograph the machine as set up before guests arrive, for our portfolio. We don't photograph guests, and you can decline this at no cost by telling us before your event date.

How long we keep things

Rental agreements, condition reports, and transaction records are kept for seven years to meet tax and legal requirements. Contact form submissions that don't lead to a booking are kept for about a year. Marketing list subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we've collected, to request its deletion, to request a copy of it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.

We don't sell personal information, so there's nothing to opt out of on that front.

To make a request, email info@analogpursuit.com. We'll respond within 45 days and may need to verify your identity first.

Cookies

Our site uses cookies for basic functionality — remembering your cart, keeping you logged in, and analytics. You can block cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work properly if you do.

Children

Our services are for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

We use reputable service providers with industry-standard security, and we limit access to customer information to what's necessary to run the business. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care with what you give us.

Changes

If we update this policy, we'll change the date at the top. Material changes will be noted on the site.
